  •  Comment. This should be not be deleted yet for scope reasons as it is still in use on two projects and one Wikidata page. That said, this does seem to be a selfie uploaded by someone other than the photographer. It could potentially be deleted immediately on those grounds. File:Warner Bros. 2023 (Alt).svg[edit]

This file was initially tagged by 2603:7000:B8F0:960:2513:D14C:D5C3:95D9 as Speedy (SD) and the most recent rationale was: reason=Unofficial logo  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:52, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Delete for now unless we had editable SVG version of it. According to https://brand.wbd.com/other-brands/warner-bros-brands/warner-bros/ (official guideline of WB logo), this generic WB logo is bannerless, and the bannered version (known as sash) are only deserved for four divisions (Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, WB Television, and WB Games). So, anything other than four divisions had considered "unofficial" logo. However, i inclined to  Keep if we can find a better vector version of this logo, because the supposed SVG image uploaded by BiggieSMLZ in fact cannot be editable so it is considered PNG file instead of SVG file, also considering COM:INUSE. 114.125.251.21 05:25, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
 Delete. It's an unofficial logo. 2603:7000:B8F0:960:3CD2:5BCC:5991:B113 01:27, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Keep per COM:INUSE. Just as it is the unofficial logo doesn't mean that it has justify to delete the file. 103.144.14.55 10:22, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bonjour,
Files in Category:Grand stade Bordeaux[edit]

In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 70 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Unfortunately there is no applicable FOP exception in France.

File:Corrie de Roos-Oudegeest (1961).jpg[edit]

This is most likely a clerical error made by Anefo (error made as early as 1961?). It could perhaps be the wife of the man on the right, C. M. J. H. Hustinx. But it's not the wife of the man on the left, as suggested by Anefo Frank Geerlings (talk) 15:36, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It could be @Vysotsky: made a mistake here. Usually this user works pretty accurately but we are all humans so occasionally we all might make mistakes. - Robotje (talk) 16:08, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Keep I was definitely the culprit who added a short line to the Anefo description, on 6 Sept. 2018. I first added: "Tussen hen in mogelijk Corrie Oudegeest." 8 minutes later I changed that to "Tussen hen in Corrie Oudegeest, Tweede Kamerlid 1956-1963 en echtgenote van Ab de Roos." So if this turns out to be a mistake (which seems very likely), it was my mistake. I never trump things up, so I must have found this photo with (possibly wrong) caption somewhere, or must have jumped to conclusions on the basis of some text that I didn't refer to. For now: I didn't find the original photo in Delpher nor in any other digital archive, so I guess it could have been a book about Dutch feminists. I checked several, but couldn't find one with this photo. There are 7 photographs about this trip in Anefo and Commons, and the lady in question appears in at least two images. I agree with Frank Geerlings that she doesn't look like Corrie Oudegeest one year later (comp. the teeth). I will do some searching to the real identy of this lady, and in the meantime upload a real photo of Corrie Oudegeest. I will also change descriptions. But the photo can be kept in Commons, with improved title and name. Vysotsky (talk) 17:28, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The solution doesn't seem very difficult. But before making a mistake again, please correct me if I am wrong. I think the lady in question is the spouse of Charles Hustinx, Emma Anna Jacoba Reijnders. She can be seen here together with her husband in 1959, two years before the disputed photo. Vysotsky (talk) 17:52, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Here is a photo of Hustinx and his wife in 1967. Keeping this cropped picture is OK with me as long as the filename no longer suggests the lady is mrs. Roos. - Robotje (talk) 20:27, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Of course I will change the name of the file as soon as you seem to agree with me. Vysotsky (talk) 21:00, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for your explanation regarding the cause of the confusion! As suggested I also suspect it's mrs. Hustinx. My suggestion for deletion was based on my assumption that she was not notable enough to need a cropped-out photo of her own, but renaming the photo is just fine by me. This should resolve the issue. Do I need to rescind my request? I am not really familiar with Commons deletion procedure. –Frank Geerlings (talk) 07:33, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Update: It seems I am late and everything has been fixed already. Thanks! –Frank Geerlings (talk) 07:35, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Since it was cropped from a file we still have on Commons, you could consider adding "(cropped)" to the original filename. That would be File:Vertrek 10 burgemeesters naar Amerika Links wethouder A de Roos , rechts C M, Bestanddeelnr 912-5897 (cropped).jpg. - Robotje (talk) 07:39, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Delete Derivative work. Copryright violation. Original (without spectacles) appears all over the web (try Google Image search or TinEye) many pre-dating the Upload of this file in 2016. One example is https://www.flickr.com/photos/25304575@N02/2468086416 uploaded to Flickr in 2008 and marked copyright "All Rights reserved". Even then I am not sure this was the original. However it is pretty clear that the Uploader is NOT the Author as claimed.

I would love to claim that it is Out of Scope as well, as it clearly has no realistic educational value but it is in use. !! --Headlock0225 (talk) 12:53, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sourced to AFC Bournemouth's YouTube channel, which has a blanket CC license for all its videos, but match footage belongs to the league and its licensed broadcasters. The club only owns its original content (i.e. interviews, behind the scenes footage etc), not match footage.

Adeletron 3030 (talk) 13:07, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

And I'd like to revisit File:Liam Delap CC video screenshot.png. It's sourced to AFC Bournemouth, but the it's the same shared Carabao Cup footage with the club's own commentators. The club owns the audio, but not the video. Adeletron 3030 (talk) 13:14, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Agree. The Dominic Solanke one for example is a screenshot from at least two videos showing the same highlights but for some reason the commentators audio can't be heard from both Fulham's and Bournemouth's channels making the videos identical to each other.
Also by looking at "File:Steve Cooper.jpg", that file is reviewed by Dudek1337, I don't see that info on any of those listed here excluding the Liam Delap picture which was reviewed by a different user. Iggy the Swan (talk) 15:50, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Do not delete. The uploaded images pass all guidelines of (licence) verifiability. The unsourced reason to delete them does not meet te verifiability guidelines. According to Wikipedia:Verifiability everything must be verifiable (en:Wikipedia:Verifiability). The copyright of the images I uploaded are verifiable according to the "Guidelines for images and other media files" (en:Wikipedia:Copyrights#Guidelines for images and other_media files). The official AFC Bournemouth YouTube channel has posted video's since 2012 and their video's have not been taken down by YouTube. We/I dont have access to their standard (license) contracts and/or addidional (license) contracts. Please provide a verifiable claim to the copyright concerns or don't delete the images. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FlippyFlink (talk • contribs) 09:50, August 29, 2022‎ (UTC)

@FlippyFlink: Hi, thank you for responding. A few things:
  • WP:V is guideline for encyclopedia content on the English Wikipedia. It's entirely irrelevant to licensing questions on Commons.
  • The reason YouTube hasn't taken the video down is because the EFL generally allows clubs to post match footage on their sites and social media content. The question is whether it is licensed correctly on YouTube.
  • COM:License laundering is something that can happen intentionally or unintentionally, where a YouTube user takes copyrighted content and assigns a free license. Even if YouTube shows a Creative Commons license, if the source material is copyrighted, then the resulting work is considered copyrighted.
  • Sure, we don't have access to the EFL's media contract terms. But we follow COM:PCP, specifically, #4. Not knowing who really owns the footage isn't a reason to keep an image. If there's doubt, the onus is on the uploader to show that the content is actually free to use. Since we have a pretty good idea that match footage belongs to the EFL, it's up to you to show that AFC Bouremouth correctly licensed the video.
I hope this answers your questions. Adeletron 3030 (talk) 16:27, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Really... I mean he is a prominent footballer in a country where football sadly isnt very well covered, and he just made history for the Pakistan national team as staten in his Wikipedia page. As staten by FlippyFlink, the uploaded image clearly pass the guidelines of license verifiability. I really struggled to find an image of him watching the whole match for nearly 2 hours and the image in question is just a mere screenshot of a fraction of the whole video lasting just a few seconds as I precisely stated in the source section. I will eagerly wait for the conclusion of the discussion but this is just straight up disheartening. Throwawayjamal047 (talk) 00:57, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Unused license template (at time of nomination, its only transclusion was Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ноздрачов Олексій Олексійович.jpg which I just deleted). There is no indication on the website cimic.com.ua of any license terms, nor is there any explanation of how the website is related to the Ukrainian military. holly {chat} 18:13, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oppose, it was a website of Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. It shared content under a free license. See footer:
Now this site, obviously, has another owner unrelated to MOD, but until its domain was changed, it's a perfectly acceptable source.
@Holly Cheng, can you say what was the URL source specified for File:Ноздрачов Олексій Олексійович.jpg? VoidWanderer (talk) 15:47, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

As the site currently does not have any CC license declaration, I still think we shouldn't keep this template around, as it will give the wrong impression. Any content uploaded from archived versions of the site can just use {{Cc-by-4.0}} on its own. holly {chat} 21:32, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I looked into archives, it seems it belonged to MOD till 2019. So might rename it to {{Cimic.com.ua (2014-2019)}}. VoidWanderer (talk) 10:45, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's a possibility, but it was only used for one file. Is that really worth having a template for? holly {chat} 17:18, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please check for any dates of publication and also if there were any credits for photography. Also please check if Siebe-Gorman has any information on which photographers were used for Heinke's publications. These would be helpful in determining a restoration date. If photographer cannot be found, then we can undelete in the 2050s when U. S. copyright would expire (knowing the year of publication will narrow down to which year).
