Never personally intended?[edit]

The current wording of this template instructs the reader as follows: "In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!"

As David Mitchell explains in this excellent video rant, the mere act of writing something on something does not make the thing you've written the thing on the thing you've written on it. The fact is that sometimes deletion requests are personal, and saying it isn't so won't change reality.

Aside from being a lie, it doesn't seem likely to achieve what it's set out to achieve. If someone were going to take a deletion request personally to begin with, they'd probably do so even if a template told them not to.

In the Swedish translation, I have taken the liberty to replace it with something that could be translated as follows:

Please remember to respond to the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. LX (talk, contribs) 16:37, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not only images[edit]

{{Editprotected}} As this template is not only used for images, please replace the contents on the template-page with these ones. This includes the better wording by LX. Thank you. -- RE rillke questions? 13:06, 6 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Proposed edit for language and punctuation[edit]

{{Editprotected}} Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Thanks, Wdchk (talk) 04:12, 2 December 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

✓ Done, though the whole "if appropriate, contradict" clause is not really necessary... Rd232 (talk) 00:29, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hm. You didn't actually change the hyphens into en dashes as requested. LX (talk, contribs) 11:21, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oops - I didn't see that, I thought it was just spacing. It's not a big visual difference... Now done. Rd232 (talk) 12:15, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for taking action on my request. In addition to the en dashes and spacing, there is also a change to the word order, because "contradict to" is not correct. Sorry if I didn't make this clear. I think a copy and paste of the above highlighted sentence will do the trick. Thanks, Wdchk (talk) 15:47, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Templates[edit]

{{Editprotected}}

Templates only have copyright issues in very rare cases, therefore ", such as copyright issues" should only be displayed when the Namespace is File.    FDMS  4    15:36, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

FDMS4 - those who propose changes with {{Edit request}} are welcome to supply working code so we admins can process more edit requests in a shorter time. How I implemented your request right now makes it difficult for migrating this template to a translation system or hard for translators. -- Rillke(q?) 19:34, 16 February 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Pictures of Herminigildo “Hermie” Sanchez and his book “Hagsi”[edit]

Good day Madam! I am asking you not to delete those pictures for the reason that the author himself give consent to do that. He is a well-known poet from Samar, Philippines and I am tasked to edit the article mentioning him by providing a picture of him as well as the book of him. I am exerting my effort to make the article more vivid and verifiable. I hope for your understanding! Thank you and God bless! Jsnueva1022 (talk) 08:25, 20 September 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
