This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: I thought a checkerboard background would be more intuitive than the horizontal alternating line colours. If you find it better, too, then reference it on wikipedia articles. The downside is, that RLE can't shrink it that well... decide what you prefer. The original can be viewed here: Monitor gamma.gif: . Modifications made by Windows Vista Paint, exported via clipboard to XnView, saved as gif non-interlaced.
