Hello! I'm a 24 year researcher who currently resides in Richmond and has a large passion for the public domain and open access materials. I began my Wikimedia journey back in January, 2023, but my passion for public domain extends far beyond that. In September 2023, I received my Creative Commonscertificate. Since Noveber 2023, I have worked as a research assistant for Duke Law, and helped with their 2024 Public Domain Day page.
As you explore my Wikimedia Commons account you will find a catalog of all the works I've contributed through my various projects that demonstrate my knowledge of copyright law as well as my attention to detail and care for accurate information.
Personal Policies and Practices
Every web-based upload that I make has its URL backed up on the Wayback Machine. If a direct link to a different archival site is used then that is the backup for that source. I do my best to find sources that have already cleared a work for public domain. However, I also make judgements and assessments as to the copyright status of works using my own knowledge of the system and reference to the Hirtle chart.
In accordance with my general care for public domain and open access, I provide my own works under permissible licenses that will ensure anyone can utilize them for future works. To this end, I often am also seeking out underrepresented or unrepresented works and topics as well to provide open source and open access materials for.
