Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

File tagging File:Mahdi Akhavan Langeroudi.jpg[edit]
This media was probably deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:Mahdi Akhavan Langeroudi.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Mahdi Akhavan Langeroudi.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File copyright status[edit]
Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you.--A1Cafel (talk) 14:59, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Source says Abbas II as far as I can see?[edit]
Dorood Amir. Re this edit:[1] As far as I can see, the British Museum source says its Abbas II? Or am I missing something? - LouisAragon (talk) 22:20, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Also re this edit[2] Personally I think it depicts Abbas Mirza too, but the source just calls him "a prince". - LouisAragon (talk) 22:22, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Regarding the first one, a text is written on the southeastward of the painting in Persian which is: "Shah Suleiman." I changed it per that.
- Regarding the second one, in the description is written: identified as 'Abbas Mirza ibn Fath 'Ali Shah and Hazrat Aliya. Changed per that. Amir Ghandi (talk) 22:30, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Well, the BM has a separate image for Suleiman I deducted from the same series,[3] so I guess it was just a mistake on behalf of whoever drew that on the painting. I will revert that one back if you don't mind. As for the Prince on the carpet, I guess we can keep the Abbas Mirza Qajar category. Thanks, - LouisAragon (talk) 23:27, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
