Taking over picture from 'de'[edit]
Hi. Image:Fuerth gauklerbrunnen maskenpaar v n.jpg and Image:Fuerth gauklerbrunnen v so.jpg are listed as GFDL on the german wiki and as CC-By on the commons. Which one is it? The GFDL also requires attribution to the author (i.e you). you can also release it under a dual license. -- Chris 73 17:05, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, this time I want to release it under cc-by. I think that's possibile because I took the photo. If that's not okay, just change the licence to GFDL, please. --Keichwa 17:13, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- No problem. I personally have a slight preference for the GFDL, since Wikipedia is based on GFDL, but either one works fine by me. Thanks for submitting the images -- Chris 73 17:16, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Johannisfriedhof[edit]
Hi, thanks for the edit. And for the great work on Nuremberg in general. --wpopp 13:03, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- You are welcome! Unfortunately, I'm slow and I still have to take pictures from the southern and eastern destricts of Nürnberg (Tiergarten, Wöhrd, St. Peter, Zeppelinsfeld, Langwasser, etc.). Another issue is the lack of pictures from the inside of all these buildings. When this all is done all must be redone for better quality: high resolution, sharpness, and weniger Verzerrungen ;) --Keichwa 15:45, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Huge program indeed, and how will you eliminate the Verzerrungen? --wpopp 16:15, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- You can use a tilt-and-shift tubus, but those are pretty expensive. Maybe, software already exists to help with those enhancements... --Keichwa 18:04, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Yeah, I remember this succubus ("Balgen") from analogue photography, but does it exist for ditigal cameras? --wpopp 23:43, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- 'Spiegelreflex' cameras (SLR) are already available as ditigal cameras, but: €€€... --Keichwa 16:38, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Feuerbach[edit]
Good morning,
Was very happy to see the Feuerbach monument on the Rechenberg where I went often as a child in winter with my sleigh (there still was snow, at that time). I'm puzzled, though, and thought you might know what happened, because I remember another monument at the time, a kind of sarcophagus with this quote: "Der Mensch schuf Gott nach seinem Bilde". Any information? --wpopp 08:57, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the sarcophagus still exists and I took pictures of it as well (Febr. 2004); I will upload them today or tomorrow. --Keichwa 16:30, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, now it's there, great. --wpopp 17:09, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 17:21, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Behringersdorf Norisstrasse Radweg f sw keichwa.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.
