Tamsui[edit]
A-giâu 03:29, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)
The materials on the Formosa site are available for educational and research purposes. They may not be used for commercial purposes」. A-giâu 03:34, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[2] A-giâu 19:28, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)
A-giâu 20:42, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Sub-category[edit]
A-giâu 21:49, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

A-giâu 22:58, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Category:Cities, Counties, and Townships of Taiwan。 A-giâu 03:28, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)

A-giâu 02:54, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
阿呆:我再一次「家婆」,把 Plain Aborigine in General搬到Plains Aborigines of Taiwan。 A-giâu 18:17, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
A-giâu 18:20, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
PS: M̄-bián kiò "hiaⁿ" ─ iá-bōe LKK leh :)
A-giâu 20:53, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)
A-giâu 02:53, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Tagging images[edit]
Hi. Could you add copyright tags to the images you uploaded? For now I have tagged your image as "Unknown". If there are no tags, the image may have to be deleted. Thanks -- Chris 73 03:22, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- You must have overlooked Image:Lungshan temple taipei taiwan.jpg and Image:National palace museum taiwan.jpg then. They do not have copyright tags on the source either, so I fear we cannot use them -- Chris 73 05:31, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Also, you cannot assume that an image on wikipedia is automatically GFDL. Image:Taroko national park Taiwan 1.jpg for example has no copyright tag on its source en:Image:Taroko national park Taiwan 1.jpg, so it may be copyrighted, fair use, etc. I have added a comment to the page of the user at the english wiki asking for copyright tags. -- 05:51, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- This is a bit confusing! See User_talk:Andre_Engels#Robbot_2. A-giâu 23:56, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- If an image on a wikipedia project does not have a copyriht tag, then the copyright is unknown. If it was uploaded by the person who created it, then it may be GFDL (that was one point I did not know before - my mistake). If the person uploading the file was not the creator/copyright holder, then the copyright status is unclear. In this case, it may be (in my opinion) safer not to include the image on the commons. As for the example above, the contributor added the GFDL tag after I asked him for it. Hope things are clearer now, and apologies for the confusion -- Chris 73 00:42, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Asian language license info[edit]
Hi. Could you have a look at Image:Wetland ChongMingDongTan ShangHai China1.jpg, Image:Wetland ChongMingDongTan ShangHai China2.jpg, and Image:Wetland ChongMingDongTan ShangHai China3.jpg? The license links to here, which is written in chinese I think. Which copyright tag - if any - would be appropriate? I have listed it as Unknown for now. Thanks -- Chris 73 23:49, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Non-free Creative Commons Licenses[edit]
Hi, you uploaded some very nice pictures, but you used a Creative Commons Licens which cannot be used in wikipedia commons. Please choose an other license. --Habakuk 20:21, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Did you mean to use a non-commercial license for Image:Tamsui Sunset.jpg? I'll have to delete it otherwise. ed g2s • talk 05:23, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:AinuGroup.JPG[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:AinuGroup.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Image deletion warning | Image:Ddm 2004 017 Love River.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 04:50, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Please help replace this outdated license[edit]
Hello!
Thank you for donating images to the Wikimedia Commons. You have uploaded some images in the past with the license {{PD}}. While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.
The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding {{PD-self}} if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.
Thank you for your help. If you need help feel free to ask at Commons talk:Licensing or contact User:Zscout370.
The images we would like you to check are:

Thanks for uploading File:Ni Jianghuai nd.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Ni Jianghuai nd.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File:Ddm 2004 008 Lantern.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Wdshu. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Wdshu~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
